Solo Training Video
I do some solo training with heavy sticks three or four times a week. Check out the solo training video below.
This workout typically lasts 20 minutes. Any shorter than 20 minutes is unsatisfactory to me. This is purely a conditioning session for me. What you see in the video is a template that I’ve been doing for the past month or so. I’ll probably vary the template to avoid getting bored.
Solo training in Filipino martial arts is often overlooked, with many practitioners prioritizing partner drills over solo practice. I frequently assign homework that involves mini solo training drills. I tell my students/clients, “Just practice this for 5 or 10 minutes per day until I see you the next time.” Unfortunately, many of them skip solo training or fail to spend even 5 minutes on it. Many of them underestimate the value of solo training, leading to significant personal growth and skill enhancement being missed out on through dedicated, focused practice.
Anyway, try out my routine and see what you think!
