“You Should Blog More Often!”
Sorry for the radio silence. I’ve been busy and buried under a lot of things. Is that why I haven’t blogged as consistently as I would like?
No.
I tend to want to pick the perfect topic or wait until I produce a video to upload before publishing a blog. Consequently, my need for the ideal conditions to post a blog has often presented a barrier to consistent production. Frequently, a few weeks go by.
The title of this post comes from a podcast that I recently watched. Scott Alexander asked for blogging tips and simply said, “Just write every day,” or something similar.
See the video below at the 2:36:06 mark.
I’m not sure I have the bandwidth to “write every day,” but Alexander seems to advocate writing whenever a topic pops into my mind, so maybe I’ll give that a try!
I expect spontaneous posts to be shorter and more to the point. We’ll see.
Stay tuned!
Update On My Right Shoulder
The tendonitis is still present but improving. It’s taking an awful long time, though. The tendonitis first appeared last fall and worsened until I started physiotherapy in January. While I have been released from physiotherapy, I am still doing the shoulder rehab exercises several times a week. I have no idea when it will disappear. We’ll see.
In any case, my private lessons are proceeding nicely. For the first few months this year, I trained heavily with my left hand to give my right shoulder time to heal. I have amped up my right-hand training over the past month. I am pleased to report that this has not resulted in flare-ups of the tendonitis issue.
In addition, I have resumed push-ups and have been super-incremental in my progression. The focus is definitely going to be on quality over quantity. I am using the following push-up program.
I am currently up to 20 standard push-ups. Like I said, I’m taking my time here. Knock on wood, I have not experienced any increase in tendonitis pain. All that said, I am starting from scratch and am not as strong as I was in September 2024, when I turned 60.
Lastly, are there any topics you want to see in future blog posts?
Let me know!
