In addition to books on Filipino Martial Arts, I have also noticed that Jeet Kune Do books fit in well with an Arnisador’s library. These books offer insights very similar to the underlying concepts of FMAs.

I recommend reading Jeet Kune Do books with Filipino Martial Arts in mind. It doesn’t hurt that I learned a little bit of JKD through Dan McConnell in Columbus and the Kelly Worden seminars I attended. Those influences impacted my book-buying decisions and here is a list of my limited library of JKD/Bruce Lee books:

(1) Bruce Lee: The Art of Expressing the Human Body: Compiled and edited by John Little.

(2) Jeet Kune Do: Entering to Trapping to Grappling by Larry Hartsell

(3) Jeet Kune Do: Volume 2: Counter Attack, Grappling Counters and Reversals by Larry Hartsell and Tim Tackett.

(4) The Dragon and the Tiger: The Birth of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do: The Oakland Years. Volume 1 by Sid Campbell and Greglon Yimm Lee.

(5) The Dragon and the Tiger: The Untold Story of Jun Fan Gung Fu and James Yimm Lee by Sid Campbell and Greglon Yimm Lee.

(6) Remember the Master: Bruce Lee, James Yimm Lee and the Creation of JKD by Sid Campbell and Greglon Yimm Lee.

(7) Jeet Kune Do: Conditioning and Grappling Methods by Larry Hartsell.

(8) The Warrior Within: The Philosophies of Bruce Lee by John Little.

(9) Bruce Lee: Fighting Spirit by Bruce Thomas

(10) Jeet Kune Do Kickboxing by Chris Kent and Tim Tackett

(11) Jeet Kune Do Basics by David Cheung.

(12) Jeet Kune Do Conversations by Jose Fraguas.

(13) Bruce Lee: Artist of Life by John Little.

(14) The Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee.

(15) The Straight Lead by Teri Tom.

I highly recommend that you, as an FMA practitioner, consider adding Jeet Kune Do books to your martial arts library!
