Friday Recommendation #12
If you are not able to view this video, go to here.
Sensei Ando begins this video with a highly entertaining story from his teenage days. Based on this episode, he learned several life lessons. All are wise lessons that originate from an act of stupidity (by his own admission).
Let’s face it. Many of us have done stupid things in the past. The key is whether we have learned from our stupidity or not. I made a couple of stupid decisions during my teenage years that I instantly regretted. They were so stupid that I never told my parents. I felt that I didn’t need to hear any lectures from them. I had already learned the lesson. Instant life lessons too!
It seems that the best life lessons are those you learned alone. In short, you were smart enough to say to yourself, “Holy crap, what did I just do here? I never want to do this again, EVER.”
Unfortunately, some don’t have the insight to see their mistakes and keep repeating them. Over and over. Don’t be that person.
Anyway, check out the video. Enjoy his story and listen to the lessons he extracted from his 16-year-old self.
Have a great weekend!
