Video of the Week 26: Double Zero to Abanico Double Action
As many of you know, I ardently advocate solo training, whether the shadowboxing version or hitting a tire. Solo training is an excellent opportunity to work on your martial skills, particularly your weaknesses. I demonstrate one solo training sequence consisting of a double zero followed by an abanico double action.
Side note: The last rep resulted in a significant pain spike in my right shoulder. As you know, I was diagnosed with biceps tendonitis, specifically in the shoulder area and am going through physical therapy to address this issue.
Anyway, try the sequence above and play with it. See what solo sequences you can come up with! Please share them!

Motivational Video
Check out this Michael Jordan motivational video. The title says it all: “Obsession Beats Talent.” Absolutely. I’ve seen this phenomenon over and over. The winners or successful folks are often out-working everybody else. They are not necessarily the most talented folks in the room. So it is with Michael Jordan.
Maybe you are competing only with yourself. How do you improve each day? What do you do to elevate your skill set? Do you work on your strengths? Or do you attack your weaknesses? Talent alone isn’t going to get you through. Hard, consistent practice is the only guaranteed way to help you reach your goals.
