# A Stranger Approaches And.. - Link: https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/ - Published: 2010-03-26T20:43:00-04:00 - Author: Brian Johns Here’s some background on how the stranger approached us: From the spring of 2008 to July 2010, I worked on a contract basis in downtown Toronto for the Law Foundation of Ontario, while Terence was working at TD. Normally, we would get together for lunch on Fridays at a local park and indulge in our love of Filipino martial arts. Today, Terence and I were finishing our session and about to leave when a stranger approached us. He was carrying a camera and a camera bag. He asked us what we were doing during our workout. We explained to him that we were practicing a Filipino Martial Art called Modern Arnis. He told us he had a photography project called “ 100 Strangers.” Click on the picture below and pick up the rest of the story: [⌊Brian and Terence⌉](https://www.flickr.com/photos/pjmixer/4465515286) If you are not able to view the photographs, click [here](https://www.flickr.com/photos/pjmixer/4465515286/in/photostream/lightbox/). The stranger was a man named PJ Mixer. He seems to be quite passionate about photography, which reminds me of my passion for Modern Arnis and Filipino martial arts. Terence and I talked with him for a few minutes before we had to head back to work. I wish we had more time, but our professional obligations were calling us! This was a very nice encounter! ## Additional Reading * [Mixing It Up!](https://brianejohns.com/2021/11/08/blog-mixing-it-up/) * [June 2009 Technique of the Month](https://brianejohns.com/2009/06/26/blog-june-2009-technique-of-the-month/) * [Style or Approach?](https://brianejohns.com/2012/03/01/blog-style-or-approach/) * [From Pixels to Stick Fighting](https://brianejohns.com/2023/11/15/from-pixels-to-stick-fighting-the-video-game-generation/) * [A Look Back on 2023](https://brianejohns.com/2023/12/29/a-look-back-on-2023/) ### Share this post: * [ X ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?share=twitter) * [ Facebook ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?share=facebook) * [ LinkedIn ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?share=linkedin) * [ Threads ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?share=threads) * [ WhatsApp ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?share=jetpack-whatsapp) * [ Email ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/?subject=%5BShared%20Post%5D%20A%20Stranger%20Approaches%20And..&body=https%3A%2F%2Fbrianejohns.com%2F2010%2F03%2F26%2Fblog-a-stranger-approaches-and%2F&share=email) * [ Print ](https://brianejohns.com/2010/03/26/blog-a-stranger-approaches-and/#print?share=print) ### Like this: Like Loading… ### _Related_
